Where to Find ID Photo Booths Near Akihabara Station [Inside the Station & Electric Town Too!]

The area around Akihabara Station

Akihabara is best known for its electronics shops and maid cafés, but it is also a business district with large offices and many rental meeting rooms. Around the station, you'll find several ID photo booths that come in handy when you realize you forgot to attach a photo to your résumé (rirekisho, the standard Japanese résumé form that requires a photo).

In this article, we'll show you where to find ID photo booths around Akihabara Station!

Same-day booking is available at some photo studios

Photo booth quality varies a lot by model. Older machines may have weak lighting that leaves your face looking dark, and some can't give you your photo as digital data. If you want consistently high-quality ID photos, we recommend having them taken at a photo studio.
19Studio in Shinjuku offers same-day booking. It's only about 20 minutes from Akihabara, so it's a great option if you need your photo quickly. You can also add a suit composite (a digitally added business suit) as an option, which is perfect if you're busy!

Photo booths at JR, Tsukuba Express, and Metro stations

Akihabara is a very convenient station, served by the Yamanote Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line, and Chuo-Sobu Line, as well as the Hibiya Line and the Tsukuba Express. Many people pass through it when transferring. Each railway operator has its own ID photo booth at Akihabara Station, so choose the one that fits your route and destination!
