ID Photo Booth Locations Around Ikebukuro Station (Including Inside the Station)

Ikebukuro is home to many high schools, universities and vocational schools, and it has a lot of ID photo booths. That may be a sign of how much demand there is.
Here are some of them.

Studios that offer same-day booking

Older ID photo machines often have weak lighting, so your face can come out dark, and some can't give you the photo as digital data. Quality varies a lot from machine to machine. If you want consistently high-quality ID photos, we recommend having them taken at a photo studio.
19Studio accepts same-day bookings. A suit compositing option (a suit is added to your photo digitally) is also available, so it's perfect if you're busy!

Plenty of ID photo booths inside Ikebukuro Station!

ID photo booths inside stations are open every day of the year, from the first train to the last train.
That's handy when you're in a hurry. Here are six of them. ("Outside the gates" means outside the ticket gates, so you can use the booth without entering the platforms. "Inside the gates" means you need to have entered the station.)

Ikebukuro Station
①JR Ikebukuro Station, outside the South Gate

This booth is outside the South Gate of JR Ikebukuro Station.
After you exit the South Gate, look straight ahead for the JR ticket office (Midori no Madoguchi). The booth is to its left, in the row of ATMs.

It is also close to the South Passage East Gate of the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, so it works well if you want to take your photo while changing trains.

②Marunouchi Line, Central Passage Central Gate

Exit the Marunouchi Line Central Passage Central Gate toward PARCO and it is straight ahead.
It stands between the ticket machines and a soba restaurant.

③Yurakucho Line, South Passage East Gate

Exit the Yurakucho Line South Passage East Gate toward JR's South Gate and turn right. The booth is a little way along.

④Marunouchi Line / Fukutoshin Line transfer passage (inside the gates)

This booth is inside the ticket gates, in the transfer passage between the Marunouchi Line and the Fukutoshin Line.
It's a good choice if you want to take your photo while transferring between those two lines.

⑤Near Exit C6

Exit the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line West Passage West Gate, turn left and head toward Exit C6. The booth is on the way, next to the coin lockers.

⑥Near Exits C9 and C10

Exit the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line West Passage West Gate, turn left and head toward Exits C9 and C10.
Many of the overhead signs don't mention C9 or C10, so follow the arrows toward the Tobu Tojo Line, JR lines and Seibu Ikebukuro Line.
Turn left after you pass Exit C8 and you'll find the machine.
