Where to Find ID Photo Booths at Kashiwa Station (Chiba) [A Classic Tokyo-Area Commuter Town]

The area around Kashiwa Station

Kashiwa Station is packed with shopping areas and large stores such as Takashimaya, Station Mall and Marui. This guide shows you where to find ID photo booths (the automatic photo machines used for résumés, visas and other documents) around the station.

Students can also pick up photos for part-time job applications while shopping, with no hassle.

ID photos can be taken inside the JR and Tobu stations at Kashiwa

When a photo booth is inside the station, you can use it without even going through the ticket gates. It's also handy for a quick shot while you wait for your train.

You will find several photo booths here as well.

Kashiwa Marui

Kashiwa Marui is right in front of the East Exit, and the photo booth is on the 7th floor in front of the Passport Center.

Need an ID photo in Tokyo? We recommend 19Studio!

Photo booths vary a lot in quality. Older models may have weak lighting that makes your face look dark, or may not let you receive your photo as digital data. If you want consistently high-quality ID photos, we recommend having them taken at a studio.
19Studio in Shinjuku accepts same-day bookings, so it's a good choice if you need your photos in a hurry. You can also add digital suit retouching as an option, so you can have your photo taken without bringing a suit!

Summary

Kashiwa Station is served by both the JR and Tobu lines, and it has several photo booths inside the station. There are also several just outside the ticket gates. The East Exit, with its many shopping buildings, is especially convenient: you can take ID photos inside Marui, where the Passport Center is located, and inside Sky Plaza.

On the West Exit side, there is a booth at a convenience store right by the station, so you can take your photo right away.
