A studio that takes same-day bookings
Photo booths vary a lot by model. Older machines may have weak lighting that leaves your face looking dark, or may not let you receive your photo as digital data. If you want consistently high-quality ID photos, we recommend having them taken at a photo studio.
19Studio in Shinjuku accepts same-day bookings, and it takes only about 15 minutes from Shimbashi Station by subway. You can also add an optional digital suit edit (your own clothes are replaced with a suit in the photo), which is perfect if you are short on time!

Many lines stop at Shimbashi, including the JR Yamanote Line, JR Keihin-Tohoku Line, Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, Toei Asakusa Line and the Yurikamome, so you can take your photo right when you get off a train or while transferring.

Summary
In this article, we introduced ID photo booths around Shimbashi Station.
It can be stressful when you suddenly need an ID photo, but stay calm and check where the nearest booth is.
Besides the stations themselves, there are booths in buildings and convenience stores, so you can choose a spot that fits your schedule.
One more thing: if you have requirements for photo size, background color or file size, be careful. Some machines do not support them, so check before you shoot that the booth can make the photo you need. Passport photos and My Number Card photos (the Japanese national ID card) in particular have specific rules for face size and margins, so choose your booth with care. If you cannot find a booth that meets the requirements, we recommend having your photo taken at a photo studio.
We hope this guide helps when you are in a hurry!
