Hello everyone! We are 19 Studio.

Out of curiosity, do you know the required size for visa or naturalization application photos? In fact, because regulations differ finely by country, preparing a photo that fits the exact required dimensions can be quite difficult.

At 19 Studio, we can prepare photos in special custom sizes required for visa and naturalization applications! Depending on the situation, same-day delivery is also possible, so please feel free to request it.

Things to Keep in Mind for Visa & Naturalization ID Photos!

・・Photo Size

We would appreciate it if you could confirm your photo dimensions before visiting our studio. The size varies depending on the country you are applying to and the type of visa.

For example, here are some required sizes that 19 Studio has created in the past:

Turkey	5.0 cm (H) × 5.0 cm (W)
New Zealand	4.0 cm (H) × 3.0 cm (W)
Germany	4.5 cm (H) × 3.5 cm (W)
China	4.8 cm (H) × 3.3 cm (W)

Since dimensions vary by country like this, checking in advance is crucial to avoid having to resubmit due to an incorrect size.

If you have a document or email stating the specifications, showing it to our staff will help us shoot and prepare your photo even more smoothly!

・Background Color

19 Studio offers backdrop papers in light blue, white, and gray.

Many countries require a white background, but blue, red, or other colors may also be specified. For background colors not available at our studio, composite editing is available; however, please note that some countries do not accept composite backgrounds for applications.

・Clothing Color

Please avoid wearing clothes in colors close to the specified background color.
The reason is that many countries explicitly state that "photos where the outline between the subject and the background is unclear are unacceptable."

It becomes crystal clear when looking at actual photos. With white clothes against a white background, the boundary is hard to distinguish, right?

Be careful with light-colored clothing when using a white background!
Light colors might blow out white under the studio lighting.
You can avoid light-colored clothes, or handle it by putting on a dark-colored jacket.

For other basic guidelines, keeping them aligned with standard passport photo regulations will give you peace of mind, so we recommend also reviewing the passport guidelines published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Passport Division.
